We are looking for an exceptional PHP developer to join our talented team here at Right Brain Solution Ltd. You must have a thorough understanding of PHP, *NIX servers and Javascript. The ideal candidate consistently finds simple and elegant solutions to difficult problems, and is comfortable with working in a small, autonomous team in an agile way. Experience deploying to high-traffic websites is a plus. Communication skills and a good sense of humor are required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in requirement analysis and generate specifications
  • Design complex, normalized, and optimized databases
  • Design and build quality applications using MVC-based frameworks
  • Write secure and manageable code with necessary documentation/comments.
  • Maintain in-house developed software with periodic changes

Technical Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of PHP 5
  • Experience with Object Oriented PHP and MVC Frameworks
  • Expert knowledge of XHTML/CSS with focus on browser consistency and semantic markup
  • Experience with JavaScript/AJAX libraries (jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Dojo etc.)
  • Familiarity with source control systems (Subversion, CVS, etc.)
  • Passion for new technology and a love of problem solving
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfort with using Linux and Apache Web Server is a plus
  • Experience of unit testing is a BIG plus

Other Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and switch priorities as needed
  • Be self-driven and able to work in a group environment
  • Experience working in the Scrum Agile development methodology is a plus
